Mung Beans are high in protein when presented in seed form and even better once they have been sprouted.

  • Soak for 12 hours at room temperature
  • Refresh the water a number of times during this time
  • Rinse abundantly with cold running water
  • Allow to germinate at room temperature in a sieve or in germination trays
  • Humidify regularly or cover up the sieve with a wet cloth
  • After 48 hours the mung beans should be sprouted
  • Fully grown beansprouts will take approximately 5 days
  • Sprouted seeds can be given as they are or mixed with egg food, as a supplement to the feed

We suggest using a water sanitiser, such as Aviclens, to help prevent harmful bacteria.
