Dummy eggs can be used to replace the freshly laid eggs until the clutch is complete. Once the hen has finished laying return her real eggs to the nest for incubation. This way the eggs will all hatch at the same time and the chicks will all grow at the same rate.

Dummy eggs can also be put under a bird which constantly lays and hatches eggs to give her a rest and enable her to recover any lost condition/weight.
