Aniseed has long been recognised as an attractant and is beneficial to digestion. Oil is commonly used ease intestinal colic (upset tummies) and flatulence, and as an expectorant to help increase a productive cough. It can also be used as an appetite stimulant and has diuretic properties. Aniseed oil can be used externally in an ointment base for the treatment of scabies and lice infestations. 

Aniseed is also thought to have antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, reduce stress and anxiety and lift a low mood.  

Aniseed contains calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, and copper. 

A vast majority of pet foods use it as a flavouring.  

Please note that Aniseed Oil can become solid in cool temperatures. Standing the bottle in a bowl of warm water will remedy this.
